The multi-disciplinary and genre-defying Jason Phu has just added a new medium to his ever-expanding oeuvre: Wool!
In this exclusive collaboration with WAH-WAH, the 2025 Archibald Prize finalist brings his chaotic sense of humour, his surreal characters, and a visual language that roams unchecked across time and space.
The design draws on elements of Chinese calligraphy and ink painting and filters them through Phu's anarchic sensibility until the results are anything but traditional. Present are Phu’s trademark creatures: a strange collection of beings that might have leapt out of an ancient scroll and into a Saturday morning cartoon. WAH-WAH x JASON PHU is a riot of contradictions: equal parts curious and comic, folk-tale and funky!
